About Us

Dr. Linda Miles began her career as psychotherapist in 1973, with primary interests in Mindfulness practices and how our inner states affect the way we treat others. She earned her PhD at Florida State University in Counseling Psychology in 1986, and continued her study of research and applications of these topics. She has recently updated her knowledge of Mindfulness with study through UCLA Center for Mindfulness and Duke Integrative Medicine.

Dr. Miles has written several books on these topics. In its review of her most recent book, Friendship on Fire, Kirkus Discoveries noted: "In this easy-to-read self-help book, relationship therapist Miles offers a treasure map to happy, healthy relationships."

Other books include award-winning The New Marriage, Transcending the Happily After Myth, and All Aboard the Brain Train: Teaching Your Child to Live With Purpose. She also co-authored Trust Your Heart: Better Relationships for Business with Marnie McPherson et.al.

Dr. Miles has appeared on national television, radio, and in magazines such as Woman's World, Parents, and Entrepreneur. Her articles have been published by Wall Street Journal, Boston Globe, Reuters and Miami Herald.

Dr. Miles has won numerous professional awards such as "Outstanding Educator in Business and Industry," from Florida State University and "Outstanding Contributions to Knowledge in the Practice of Marriage and Family Therapy" by TAMFT. She serves on the National Advisory Board of Access Technologies Group's Social Simentor Model for Intervention with Autism, and was appointed by the President of the Florida Senate to The Florida Commission on Support Initiatives for Marriage and Family. Dr. Miles is listed in Who's Who Among American Women (Marquis,1993) and was named a Diplomate by the American Psychotherapy Association.
